It’s Been Too Long, Winter Is Almost Here!

Hey Everybody! Well, our inaugural season was kind of a bust with all the rain. But I’m already looking forward to more rides and events next year! Ethan is on tour and Josh’s newest scooter is not running. But I’m planning on going on the ESS Hot Dog Run tomorrow. Hope to see some of you old timers out for the fun! In the meantime everybody have a great holiday season and winter. I look forward to seeing you all soon! – Bill

Sky Blue Coffee & Bistro Meet-Up

Buckwheat pancakes, egg whites, veggie sausage and cheddar cheese. Incredible breakfast at Sky Blue Coffee & Bistro!

I just posted some photos from the breakfast meet-up this past Saturday at Sky Blue Coffee & Bistro in East Nashville. The food was delicious and a great time was had by all. We got there plenty early (right when they opened) and were able to sit at some nice tables out on the sidewalk. We also were able to beat the heat. Hope to see some more of you out next time. I’m not a morning person, but it was totally worth it!

Also, please welcome our newest members Oliver, Steve, Jason and Dave. These guys have really been around and involved since the beginning this past April, but we finally got some photos and info! You can check out their member cards here.

Ride To The Loveless: This Sunday! (04/26)

Kerry has been awesome enough to plan a ride for everybody this Sunday. The tentative plan is to leave Bongo Java West (aka Bongo Belmont – here’s a map) at 9:30am to ride to the Loveless Cafe for breakfast. Then Kerry will lead us on a ride north towards Pond Creek. The ride will return towards Nashville and end at Sevier Park for Las Paletas, Bocce Ball and possible BBQ.

Kerry is looking for input in regard to the BBQ portion. You can weight in at the MCM forum here.

Percy Warner Park Ride

The ride to Percy Warner Park went great today. We started off at Starbucks in downtown Nashville with only 5 of us. We headed to Cheeseburger Charlie’s in Bellmeade for some lunch where 2 more riders met up with us and shortly after that, 3 more rider met up as well. At that point, we headed into the park and up the winding trails to a great view of the greater Nashville area. One of the cool parts about starting this site is that, today, we found out that people are actually looking at it! A fellow rider, Steve, came across the site, saw that we were riding and decided to join us! Thanks to Steve for meeting up with a bunch of people you didn’t know and enjoying yourself! Last Minute Ride!

Tomorrow, April 4th, the weather is supposed to be amazing. So, we are gonna ride out to Percy Warner Park! If anyone is interested, we will be meeting at 11am at Starbucks downtown on 5th & Church. Come join us if you are free! All scooters welcome as usual!

Cowboy Keith Poker Run

Josh and I were stoked to be a part of the benefit for Cowboy Keith this past Sunday. Keith is a local Nashville scooterist who was hit by a car and will not be able to work for 3-4 months. So the community got together to raise some money to help him out.

My morning did not start out that great because I flooded my scoot and spent an hour trying to fix my noob mistake. Ha ha. I made it to the meet-up in east Nashville just in time to put gas in my tank and sign my name to the sheet. So, unfortunately I did not get the briefing or any other info. Just enough time to fire it up and ride!

This was my very first group ride. It was a lot of fun and I was able to actually go through some neighborhoods I have never been to. For those who don’t know how a Poker Run works (I didn’t), you basically pick up a card at each stop and at the end the person with the best hand wins. And no, I did not win. But the very cool gentleman who did donated his portion of the pot to Cowboy Keith. Nice!

There was 21 of us on the run. A great group! Our first stop was Mitchell Deli, a great local sandwich shop. After that we popped over to East Side Scooters. Then we cruised over memorial bridge, up demonbreun and down 12th south to Katy K Designs. I took my favorite picture of the day at this location; a bunch of scooters with the word “Believe” (on a local Church) above them. Our final stop was the back parking lot at Grimey’s / The Basement. I actually later discovered that I dropped my house keys in this parking lot and a very nice girl at Grimey’s held them for me at the front counter. Thanks! Our final stop was back at the original starting point at 5 Points in East Nashville where hula hooping, burgers and BBQ, coffee and banana bread were abundant. A great post-run hang time was had by all.

Other than one close encounter with a speeding police car at railroad tracks there wasn’t any riding drama involving cars, at least that I saw. Every one returned safe and sound!

The run was a great time and very well organized (way to go Oliver, Kerry and Shaun). Thanks to everybody who pitched in money and participated in this event. It was great to meet some of you for the first time and we’re all looking forward to the next ride!
